Deira International School (DIS) is situated in Dubai Festival City on the eastern bank of Dubai Creek. The school has a roll of 1400 students and is divided into Primary and Secondary School. DIS follows a British National Curriculum model which is adapted for the international context of its location and the 80+ nationalities of the students’ body and teachers. Senior students take the Cambridge Board IGCSE examinations in Year 11 at age 16. In Years 12 and 13 students undertake highly competitive International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) or International Baccalaureate Career - Related Certificate (IBCC) Programme which combines the richness of the IB Curriculum with vocational training experiences. These highly regarded and internationally recognized pre-university qualifications, allow them the possibility of worldwide university entrance. Our record of achievement in IGCSE and IB results, as well as in university placements in the UK, the USA and elsewhere is first-class and is reflected in our award of international accreditation by the Council of International Schools (CIS).
