AL Batinah International School, Sohar, Sultanate of Oman

The Al Batinah International School (ABIS) was established in 2008 to meet the growing need for high quality education in Sohar, Oman. Owned by Sohar Aluminium and run as a not for profit organisation, ABIS soon established itself as the leading school in the region and has grown steadily in size since its inception. The school is an incredibly happy learning community with a real focus on the needs of individual students. At the end of 2012 we were the first school in the region to successfully introduce a 1 to 1 iPad programme for all students from Grade 3 up.The school is currently involved in an ambitious expansion plan creating addition learning, sports and art facilities. Working with leading school architects, Fielding Nair International, the facility will be one of the most environmentally friendly, technologically advanced and innovative in the Gulf.ABIS currently caters for students from 3 to 16 but is planning to introduce Grade 11 in the academic year 2013/14.
