American School of Doha, Doha, Qatar

The American School of Doha, founded in 1988, is an independent, US accredited, college preparatory school with state of the art facilities. ASD offers classes for children from Pre-K through twelfth grade designed to meet the needs of both the expatriate and local communities. The American School of Doha offers the International Baccalaureate program, an internationally recognized qualification for university entrance. IB courses are taught in addition to traditional AP courses and are available to non-IB students as well. All graduates of ASD earn a standard US secondary school diploma. There are 197 faculty members presently at ASD, 61% of which hold advanced degrees. The faculty is 87% North American but in total represents 15 countries. All faculty members participate in professional development through local workshops, regional conferences and summer study grants. The total school enrolment as of the beginning of September 2012 was 2057 students; 610 of these are in the high school with 150 in the senior class. Students come from over 67 different countries with approximately 38% coming from the United States and 10% made up of Qatari nationals. The American School of Doha is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
