The International School, Karachi, Pakistan

The International School (TIS), the first IB World School in Pakistan, established in 1996 is a private coeducational day school students aged 3 to 18 years. Currently it operates from two rented temporary campuses, primary and secondary, situated in the residential area of Clifton with limited facilities. To balance this, it draws on the infrastructure offered by the city of Karachi to facilitate sports, swimming, rowing, horse riding and hosting of one of the largest Model United Nations conference in the country.The education offered at TIS is based on the ideals of International Baccalaureate and British national curriculum. For this purpose, TIS is authorized by IBO to offer its Middle Year Program Certificates, IB Diploma and by CIE, Edexcel to offer IGCSEs with coursework. TIS graduates, TISIANS, have been admitted to leading colleges and universities in Australia, Canada, Europe, Pakistan, UAE, UK and USA.Our teachers, managers and leaders are primarily of South Asian origin and benefit from continued professional development arrangement directly with College of Teachers, UK and indirectly with Institute of Education, University of London, UK through the school's affiliate Trust for Advancement of Knowledge and Education (www.take.pk).
