The International Academy - Amman, Amman, Jordan

International Academy Amman (IAA) was established in August 2004 as a non-profit ‘Model School of Excellence’ by her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, as part of Her Majesty’s charitable organization, the Jordanian Education Society (JES). JES is governed by an International Board of Trustees, headed as Honorary Chair by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah. JES works to raise the standards of education across Jordan as a whole and IAA cooperates with local government schools by sharing good practice through mutual peer observations, shared “inset“ days and generally expanding on-going pedagogical dialogues. As a K-12 school (Reception 1 to Grade 12), IAA currently has 893 children enrolled. In September 2008, IAA moved to its new purpose-built campus. The first IB Diploma students graduated in 2010/2011. At full capacity, IAA will accommodate and provide education for approximately 1100 students.
