Ibn Khuldoon National School, Manama, Bahrain

Ibn Khuldoon National School (IKNS) is a private, non-profit, coeducational, and completely bilingual institution. The school is national in essence, providing students with a model of education that builds on the Arab and Islamic system of values while at the same time providing resources to meet the high academic standards of international education. Ibn Khuldoon National School was founded in 1983 and the first senior class graduated in June 1992. The total enrolment from grade K-12 is approximately 1450 students. The secondary school enrols around 420 students and 44 teachers in grades 9 through 12 each year. Ibn Khuldoon National School has been affiliated with the International Baccalaureate Organization since September 1990. The first group of IKNS graduates sat for the IB examinations in May 1992. Ibn Khuldoon National School is also accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools since 1994 and by the Ministry of Education in Bahrain since its inception in 1983.
