German International School Beirut, Beirut, Lebanon

Our mission is to create lifelong learners who possess the competencies, confidence, and knowledge to meet the challenges that face them. Living in a diverse society and globalized world, we work on graduating students who are contributing members of society, tolerant of others and empowered to shape their own future.

Our school offers a variety of academic programs. Aside from the IB Diploma Programme, our school also offers the Lebanese National Programme as well as the official German language Diploma (DSD I, II). Each curriculum strives
to impart students with the necessary skills and knowledge they need to excel in academics. Our teaching methods emphasize collaborative learning and critical thinking, and we have developed a highly skilled student body as a result. We also want our students to have a truly international education and as such we offer a variety of language courses in English, German, Arabic, French, and Spanish.

Students learning experience is inspired through the implementation of advanced ICT. Grades 7-12 use their PC-Tablets that replace hard-copy books and copybooks, and are connected to Interactive Whiteboards in the classrooms. Grades 1-6 use Interactive Whiteboards, allowing interactive learning. Classrooms are fully networked, to allow students access to the widest and most relevant information available. Through these high-tech classrooms, competencies are promoted and strengthened, which are important for the future life of our students, such as independence and self-responsibility, teamwork, communication skills, critical thinking, and a high degree of self-organization.
