During June, Dr. Hana and Ms. Tadrous had a very successful
meeting with Lebanon's Association/ Chapter, this meeting was
hosted by the International Collage, Ras Beirut. Dr. Hana informed
them about MEIBA's Advisory Board, and they have expressed their
support to MEIBA and confirmed that creating such a Board will be
of a great benefit to the IB schools.
in UAE
Dr. Hana also met with the IB schools in the United Arab
Emirates with the presence of Dr. Komari and Ms. Khalaf, this
successful meeting was hosted by Emirates International School -
Dubai, during this meeting they were able to meet with the students
and the IB staff in UAE, and they had a fruitful meeting with the
executive team of UAE chapter/association.
May 2017
In May, Ms. Anne Van Zyle (Educational Consultant and former
Head of Academy for the Oprah Winfery Leadership Academy for Girls
in Cape Town) was in Jordan on a personal visit. This provided an
opportunity for her to meet with the Jordan Chapter, where the
importance of the need to have collaborative platforms and open
doors amongst all MEIBA Schools. Ms. Tadrous emphasized on the
importance of networking amongst schools to achieve goals and
support schools in Jordan.
Ms. Van Zyle expressed her storong belief in the IB programme and
its positive effect on students and the educational process.
Jan 2016
Students from 15-19 years of age in the Middle Years (MYP),
Diploma (DP) and Career-related (CP) programmes can attract
attention from universities worldwide by building a personal
profile page in the new IB Student Registry. Universities can use
the registry to search and recruit DP and CP students and share
their recognition policies. Furthermore, IB World Schools can

MEIBA Executive Team and Country Representatives meeting in

Visit - 19 September, 2012
Jonathan Renaudon-Smith, IB Head of Professional Development AEM
Region and Mary Tadros, IB Regional Manager AEM visited MEIBA
members on 19 September 2012 in Dubai. This visit was to dialogue
about enhancing PD opportunities for IB schools in the Middle
East.
Those present at this meeting were Poonam Bhojani -President

Sign Agreement - 6 September, 2012
On Thursday, 6th September, Mr. Jeffry Beard, Director General
of the IB and Ms. Theresa Forbes, IB Head of Regional
Development, visited Dubai to sign a strategic partnership
agreement with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority
(KHDA).
Mr. Beard and Ms. Forbes were welcomed by Dr. Abdulla Al Karam,
Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors at KHDA,
and other senior KHDA personnel. Also invited were representatives
of local IB schools.
Prior to the official signing there was discussion about the
challenges and successes of IB schools in the region. The new IBCC
programme and the possibility of collaborative school-based syllabi
to meet regional requirements were discussed as were future
opportunities for the IB in the Higher Education and Early Years
sectors.
Also discussed was the way in which the strategic partnership
will strengthen the voice of IB schools in the region and will
support schools undergoing inspection by providing representation
from the IB during inspections of IB schools.
Dr. Al Karam said "IB offers a challenging curriculum that
produces engaged, discerning graduates ready to contribute to the
Dubai Strategic Plan 2015 and UAE vision 2021."

Visit - 23 January, 2012
On 23 January 2012, Ake Sorman, IB Regional Head of Development
as well as Ms. Theresa Forbes, IB Head of Regional Development met
with MEIBA representatives to discuss activities related to
MEIBA.

Executive Team Meeting - 12 January, 2012
MEIBA Executive Team Meeting was held on 12 January, 2012 at
Dubai International Academy. Discussions centered on achieving
greater participation across the Middle East region as well as
enhancing professional development opportunities for IB schools in
the region.
